Noelani Hill, violinist

“IN THE FUTURE I WANT TO BECOME A FAMOUS VIOLINIST AND A TEACHER. I WANT TO TRAVEL THE WORLD AND MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY WITH MY MUSIC.”

 

Noelani M’ria Hill is 11 years old and has been playing the violin for 6 years. She studies privately with Ashley Vines. She goes to People for People Charter School where she first joined the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra’s Tune Up Philly program under the direction of Paul Smith. Noelani dedicated her after-school time first as a young performer, and later developing as a musical mentor for new students entering the program.

Noelani has performed at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall and Perelman Theater. She also participated in the Philadelphia Festival of Young Musicians, the South Street Spring Festival and a side-by-side performance with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Noelani recently led TUP players in a performance of her National Anthem at a Philadelphia Phillies game. She enjoys playing the violin because it sooths her and other people. She likes making people happy while playing her violin. She has also been a part of Musicopia String Orchestra (MYSO) for 2 years and is also a part of Musicopia’s string quartet.

Aside from playing the violin, Noelani loves doing gymnastics and dancing.
