The Philadelphia Musical Alliance for Youth began in 2012 when arts education organizations from across the city came together to deepen their collective impact on the young musicians of Philadelphia. A city that has always believed that collaboration is the key to success, PMAY caught the attention of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, who generously granted ten organizations 2.5 Million dollars to codify our work and to act as a model for other cities seeking to do the same.

We are honored to be a part of this historic initiative by hosting the Sterling Masterclass Series, a monthly series of classes with leading college professors from across the country and internationally, with the goal of providing access to higher education beyond the city limits.
