Frederick Kercy, Trumpeter

Frederick is a 13 year old trumpet player who goes to Girard Academic Music Program as a 7th grader and is a Primavera Artist. He started playing the trumpet in the 5th grade in Play On, Philly and in the 6th grade, he started taking lessons. Frederick is a member of the Philadelphia Young Musicians Orchestra, PMAY Artists’ Initiative, All City Middle school, and Play On, Philly.

In the 7th grade, Frederick was accepted into the Philadelphia Young Musicians Orchestra and All City Middle school. In the 6th grade, he joined the PMAY Artists’ Initiative and he joined Play On, Philly as soon as he started playing the trumpet.

Over the few years of being a trumpet player, Frederick has gone to 2 summer music programs. Those programs being Kinhaven and POP summer music camp, and he is going to the YOLA National festival this summer. Frederick’s private teacher is Stanford Thompson.
